I haven't made much on Laundro. I only used to do trades, and I always end up spending what I make on other stuff.

I sell on eBay, but the charges they apply for listing items soon catches up with you.

I think you'll make more money putting teen-oriented things on Laundro since it's free. Ebay gets 2.5% of the total of what you sell and that doesn't include the listing fees, reserve price fees, etc.

how much money are you making on laundromatic?
I HAVEN'T MADE MUCH ON LAUNDROMATIC, IN FACT I'VE DEALT WITH MANY DEADBEAT BUYERS AND PEOPLE WHO WANT SOMETHING FOR NOTHING, SO I MAINLY DO TRADES NOW

do you also do ebay or other (which one?) auctions?
I ALSO DO EBAY (user Id: TChilds) I ACTUALY SELL ON EBAY AS A JOB NOW, AND MAKE PRETTY GOOD MONEY (it varies, this week i made aprox $80.00 a couple weeks ago i made aprox. $200.00. I THINK EBAY IS BETTER BECAUSE YOU DONT DEAL WITH AS MUCH DEADBEAT BUYERS AND PEOPLE ARE A LITTLE MORE RESPONSIBLE. http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/tchilds (only one auction up now, but more will be post next week)

how successful have you been on any?

SEE FOR YOURSELF (with what i just said) I PERSONALLY THINK I'VE BEEN MORE SUCCESSFUL ON EBAY AND ITS A GREAT PLACE TO SELL!!!

WISHINGWELL: I think you should try listing them on ebay, try putting *raver* in the title, alot of people go crazy of smurfs and strawberry shortcake stuff!!! I definately vote eBay. I've just had better experiences and eBay is my way of making money. I've posted auctions on here and dont make nearly as much on here as I have on eBay (the most i've made on here is like 5 dollars in one sale. the most i've made on ebay is 150.00 in one sale!! (Ive just begun doing ebay as a business a few months ago..about oct. 99 or so)

For me, this whole auction and buying/selling thing in general is setting me back still. I hardly ever post stuff for sale here because I've got nothing to sell, but I do see stuff that I want, so I end up buying. Yeah, Dani must be making tons of money because I happen to know that she sells on Ebay too.

When I first got to Laundro, I sold some stuff and I ended up losing money because the payment that I got had to be used to buy envelopes, bubble wrap, shipping, yada, yada. I keep track of all my transactions on Ebay, Yahoo, Laundro. However, according to my calculations, after all the shipping is done with, I've made approximately $100 total, but spent a *lot* more than that. It's hard trying to sell on Laundro though because nobody really has money, so everything has to be sold cheap or else nobody wants to buy it.

I actually really want to get started seling on Ebay but I think I might want to get a digital camera or at least a scanner first. Yeah.

hi, true eBay does charge u to post. but its a minor charge compared to how much you'll make. and although we here are all teens. BELIEVE ME, many teens shop on ebay weather its their own IDs or their parents. I have one question though, you people who have sold that say you've lost money...HOW DO YOU LOOSE MONEY ON THE SHIPPING CHARGES? you're supposed to charge shipping...you include the price of the box (if your going to have to buy one special) along with the shipping and handling charges. (I rarely buy boxes because my stepdad brings them home plus i order online so i get boxes quite a bit which we just save in my house. There are a few auctions where i've lost money (not charged enough for shipping), but for the most of it I make VERY good money on eBay. I also have a few loyal customers which i LOVE. and I am a loyal buyer from a few people on ebay (check out auctions by Jenstar9, she has the most awesome stuff!!!)

MY EBAY USER ID IS: TChilds
Check out my members page at Http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/tchilds (There are a few negative comments left for me which I didn't diserve, I was bad mouthed because I left negative feedback for deadbeat bidders who hadn't sent money after about a month when i normaly allow 10 business days) and it was their way of getting revenge...I'm a very good seller!! and buyer

Cruellove - I think you misunderstood what I meant when I said I lost money on shipping. I mean, for example, I charge a girl $2 for an item, shipping included. She sends me the money, but I had to use the $2 to buy a padded envelope, and to ship it, and when I first got started on laundro, I didn't have any envelopes to begin with. Although now I have enough to last me until the next eternity.

My Ebay name is cityborngirl, just like my Laundro name.

I use Yahoo Auctions too but you gotta admit, Yahoo SUCKS compared to Ebay.

i bought my out of print copy of "dear you" on yahoo. no one really uses it so i got it cheap. i don't think anyone there at that time knew how valuable it was. a promo copy at that. it was sealed. i made out like a bandit. i mean, my boyfriend sold his on ebay a long time ago and made $82 and it wasn't in great condition either. ah, thinking of my lucky self.

yah, no one has money here. that sucks. people email me offers of like $3 for brand spanking new never worn xoxo stuff. hello. i've spent the money on pricey shit so i know it's quality and what it retails for, so if i see something of a credible brand i trust for anything half or lower i know it's worth it. this place is good for me to clear out all the more teen oriented trends i have laying around, logo, etc.

i made over $300 at gothicauctions.com on really old punk stuff from like 3 yrs ago that was still in great shape. (punk and goth share some trends ya know so it worked there well.)

i plan on selling on ebay soon, though i haven't. i just hate that it costs, even if it's little it pisses me off for some reason. but i have some old tuff guy hardcore crap to sell off and figure that's the only place with a broad enough audience to buy it.

i do spend more than i should, but lately i've been better. i started trying to get rid of stuff i haven't worn in forever if never, and then keeping the money for my tattoo as a bonus, and now i'm more concerned with deep cleaning my closet, but not giving stuff away.

i'm just so grateful for online auctions.

Hey grrl!

I used to sell stuff on eBay, but I've seen that the only extra profit I get is about $2-3, and it doesn't really matter considering that I have to pay to sell something ::grrrrr:: eBay only works if you have something that lots of people want.

If you have something you want to sell to teen girls, I suggest Laundro. It's GREAT if you wanna trade and make friends, and if you're lucky you can make some money.

I'd suggest trying both eBay and Laundro, and seeing what is better for you.

I dunno... I never really thought of using Laundro to visibly make money. I've just done it for the kick of getting cool stuff in the mail in trade for the junk I've got lying around here. But I've found that Laundro's helpful in unloading CDs that I've bought on a whim - used record stores around here are duly unimpressed with the ska and punk compliations (they see them day after day), but Laundro users jump all over it. I just love the whole community feeling of Laundro - it's completely different from Ebay.

Yikes, this is the 3rd time I'm replying to this topic.

I have to admit, Ris and I have a completely different outlook on this. Ris isn't in it for the money, but I am thinking of nothing *but* the money. I never make money on Laundro because I don't have anything that appeals to Laundro users, or I have stuff that would only sell well on Ebay. For example, I'm a Bebe freak and I have a lot of their clothes that I don't want anymore. I know a lot of Laundro users like Bebe clothes. However, if I sell it here, I'll have to sell it for something like $5, and I know I can make a much better profit on Ebay! So yeah, I'm only thinking about the money more than anything else.

I spend money on Laundro usually on stuff that I don't truly need. I'm pretty wasteful on Ebay too. Right now, I'm in search of NEW Calvin Klein underwear (you wouldn't believe how many women sell used underwear there. The highest I saw was a pair that sold for $36. The girl did have a pretty good butt though, maybe that's why ) to match some Calvin Klein bras I just bought there, and I'm also on a tube top kick because it's almost summer time!

I've been looking all over for a digital camera or at least a scanner. Does anyone have one to sell? If I do get either one, how long will it probably take before I break even on that? 'Cause you know, I go on Ebay a lot and I know that items (especially clothes) without pictures don't really sell well and everything.

Sometimes I sell stuff at half.com instead of Laundro or ebay. I have a lot of books and CDs that would get me more money if I sold them there than if I sold them here at Laundro. (it's all about the money for me.) It's cool, except you have to wait for your check, it all comes in one lump sum. They charge 15% listing fee, but then they pay you extra money to cover shipping charges, so it's a good deal.

hey girls!
awesome topic! i didn't even see it! hehe. well, i've made a TON of money on both laundromatic & ebay! (well, it's all gone now. heh, grr) but it's just awesome to do transactions! my parent's can't believe it!

to many frauds on laundromatic. i once had 20 auctions up, got not ONE payment! heh.

so i use ebay. right now, i owe about $100.00 to ebay cuz of all my auctions. grrr. i recently listed about 90 auctions up! i made a TON of money.

so, any of you who need some extra cash, definitley turn to ebay. it is scary, some people are REALLY mean and will leave you neg. feedback in an instant, but it's all good!

i love laundro though, i've met so many people

feel free to email me if you want some help with ebay!

I've made quite a bit of money off Laundro. I never save it though, so I have no idea how much.

I used to make heaps and heaps of money off eBay before you had to use a credit card to sell things. I just recently re-signed up with eBay with my mums credit cards and all these new charges kinda confuse me. From what read, it kinda seems like their ripping people off in a sense.

lol. Totally I think I have made around $50 on Laundro, but every time I get money I end up spending it on Laundro stuff or on things like movie tickets and stuff to go out with friends. I love Laundro because everything is so cheap and trading is okay but it takes out my money because of s&h! Grr...

I would sell on ebay but I can't because I don't have a credit card and my parents won't let me use theirs. I wish I could use ebay though. Hmp...

Hi! I use Laundro , Yahoo auctions, and ebay!

Here are the reasons I like each:

Laundro: It is all teens and you can trade to! People are much nicer. There are more things to do!

Yahoo auctions: No extra costs. Easy to submit pictures. Lots of people still bid on your items even though it is not as popular!

Ebay: It isn't that expensive to list items. You are almost guarenteed to sell your items on the first time because you have so many people looking at it! People are easier to trust. If you know what to look for you can get things much cheaper!
EX. In the store I saw the cd-rom program "Teen Digital Diva". In the store it was 39.99 + taxes! On Ebay I got it for ONLY $4.00 Including shipping! What a great deal!

How much money have I made?

Laundro : I haven't made very much and what I do make I spend it all right away! I usually just trade!

Yahoo auctions: not much but I don't use it very much either!

Ebay: I have made quite a bit! Not as much as I would like too but good enough!

Things they should change:

Laundro: I think that they sould get a trading/swapping post again because it is good for people who like to trade and don't have much money to buy things! a few more subject areas for the auctions.

Yahoo : You should be able to catagorise all the items you search for by highest to lowest price or whatever.

Ebay: I think they should have more things open to people who live in canada. i think they shouldn't charge anything to list your items but still charge to add extras but just lower the prices!

Please email me if you want to talk,
Thanx,
Ilissa

I think Laundro is better, just because we are all teens, and there are only like 200 users. At ebay there are like, thousands, and so many people. It is confusing. Here, most, if not all can releate and we can help eachother out with problems.

Plus, I am not in for the money.
