i'm not too sure. i thought my dad would know since he used to be in the navy, but he doesn't.  i don't think there is a secretary of war, but there is a secretary of defense. you could try here for some info: http://www.usdoj.gov or if there's nothing there, just look through search engines or something. ------------------

i may be wrong, but i believe that william rehnquist is chief justice and william cohen is the current secretary of defense (clinton has had 2 other s.o.d. before him). and yeah, i don't think there's a secretary of war. *unless you're looking for secretary of justice (a.k.a. attorney general). which in that case, it's janet reno. oh! ------------------

I believe the Secretary of War post was abolished - now they have a Secretary of Defense, who is currently William Cohen.There are also chief generals (I think that's what they're called) of each division of the armed forces, and they're appointed by the President (with the approval of Congress.) And the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is William Rehnquist, yep!
