what are the pros/cons? I wanna hear them

These are obvious:
eBAY pros: you get more money most of the time [who can disagree], MANY more users, more publicity
eBAY cons: more likely for frauds, charged monthly fees to sell, charged fees to sell each item, must be 18 to register [but who really, i mean really, is? hehe .. well some teens!]

lAUNDRO pros: teens, and only teens (usually), more friends, you know everyone, TRADING, more teen-based items...
lAUNDRO cons: not many users, do not get much money per item, (i can't think of anything else!)

So which do you stand? Loyal to lAUNDRO (me), or partial to eBAY? How much more money do you REALLY get @ eBAY?

Hmm, I don't think I can possibly choose between the two. I visit Laundro 1000 times a day, and I visity Ebay 1000 times a day. I'm gonna say that I like what they sell at Ebay, there is so much more variety. Here at Laundro, everything's cheaper though. But, I'm making money off of Ebay too so I can't complain.

*ramblings from the wishy-washy-can't-make-up-her-mind-between-Ebay-or-Laundro brain of Nian Ci at 12:15 in the morning* Woo hoo.

There are way MORE selections at Ebay, but yeah, higher possibility of fraud sellers. I'm not sure what I like better. I guess Laundro is more user-friendly

i think ebay has way less frauds than laundro does. i only bid on items from ebay of the person has a good amount of feedback. the best pro about laundro is it's definatley more friendly and personal, and a great deal cheaper

i personally use yahoo. it's not as well known as ebay, but i thought you had to pay to sell things on ebay for a while. plus, i can sell things at the price i want them for and people will usually buy it - and send the money. it's rare that i get false bidders on yahoo.

eBay has MUCH MUCH less frauds than laundro -- since most of them are adults and can *ahem* handle responsibility. it also has a much wider range of selections, and i heard that around 1,000,000 new items get posted up for bids every day or something.

but with laundro, the environment is more friendly, and the items are more of what we're looking for

ebay pros: 1) you can go there looking for something specific and most likely will find it, 2) feedback is based on actual transactions
ebay cons: CHECKS.

laundro pros: 1) lots of cute stuff to bid on, teen oriented items 2) you can pay in cash 3) the people are nice, because teens understand being lazy :P
laundro cons: 1) not much to really look for 2) a lot of times the feedback isnt based on transactions, but on who you're friends w/ and if they wanna leave u feedback or not

i've tried selling stuff on ebay before and i've made WAY more money selling my stuff on laundro so i'll have to disagree with you there. and some stuff does go higher there, but that's mainly because they sell more expensive stuff and a lot of it is never used and/or wholesale.

check out my stuff i'm selling.

ebay has SO much cool stuff, and the prices can get quite low

some of the people are kind of harsh, but yes, they are respondsible, they are normally quick, and people are more organized...

laundro, you can get some nifty things, some aren't demanding :P
but alot are really unrespondsible (sp?)

but i like both, i stay in laundro more, but i buy more stuff in ebay...

Both laundro and ebay are awesome. (Course I'm biased)

When Laundro was created, we never expected it to be very busy at all, and have hardly any success. But slowly it has gotten busier and busier, with more and more users. We never realized that so many friendships would be built out of it, and that's my favorite part.
Time has flown by so extremely fast that today Olivia and myself just realized that it's Laundro's one year annivesary. 1 year ago today Laundromatic was released as a petty little site with nothing for sale, and NO pages for content other than the auction script itself.
Today we've broadened our horizons to have mucho content, which will keep coming. As of tomorrow, almost all of laundromatic's employees will be finished with school for summer vacation. You can expect a 200% improvement when it comes to responsivness, our help, answers to question, and a bunch of new features.
Also, to mark the one year annivesary, we're going to have a contest or two this summer. More details on that soon.

One more thing - This has pretty much been kept under wraps, but since you guys are the best, there's no way we can keep it a secret any longer:

Laundromatic is going to be featured in the September issue (on newstands in August) of Teen People. Unlike the cosmogirl article, this one is going to be much longer/more detailed and accompanied by photos. We can't wait!

Love you all,
-- Randi speaking on behave of

have you guys heard about all those scams on eBay? I would say it's WAY more corrupted than Laundro. a lot of the times you can't trust the feedback because people have multiple user names and get their relatives and friends to put false "positive" feedback up. AND since they allow you to retract bids, many people will put in a low bid for an item they want, then enter a WAY high one that they don't intend on paying. when an innocent user who's interested in the item being sold comes along, they're scared off because no one wants to bid as high as the last bid. at the very last moment the scammy user with retract their high bid and end up winning the item for less than it's worth.

the major thing wrong with ebay is...paying to sell things. it sucks! us teens dont have credit cards..or most. and our parents wont give us theirs..or mine wont. and also..ebay has much higher prices...really high. i wanted to buy a cd cheaper than at the store..but then it gets up to about the store price..so there is really no difference. and everybody mostly does 3.20 shipping, so prices are high. i love laundro.

At the moment, I am perferring EBay (even though I am brand new, and no one is bidding on my items.. lol) My dad said he will pay for the costs to sell my items, and he is helping me w/Ebay. TONS of stuff to bid on, I must not go crazy... Laundro is still fine.

Hey...hehe Im gunna put my 2 cents in although I'm sure you all already know them.

I sell on eBay
I have also *tried* to sell on laundro. I've found that I've made ***WAY*** more money on eBay than on laundro. EBay has more publicity. MANY more users (of all ages..many have registered before 10/99 and before then they didnt have an age requirement). I mean you can sell almost anything on eBay. people are willing to pay more on eBay (because it may be adults buying your items who have jobs and more money to spend). PLUS like I posted this stuff...moisture stuff no brand name that ive heard of. i had no clue what it was and i thought it wouldn't sell...well i sold it for 13.00 and i had started the auction at 50 cents.....I definately say LAUNDRO.
