You're in luck I'm taking bio (and loving it... as freaky as it may sound.) The virus that causes aids is HIV (duh), also known as human immunodeficiency virus. HIV is a retro virus, meaning that the genetic information is contained in **RNA**. Thus, their genetic information is copied backwards from RNA to DNA (instead of the normal DNA to RNA.)In more details, once the HIV has entered a cell, the viral RNA is released into the cell. A viral enzyme called reverse transcriptase makes a **DNA copy** of the virus's RNA. The cell then produces HIV proteins and genes, which assemble to form new viruses. Those new virsues then either break out of the cell by budding through the membrane or they brust the cell membrane, killing the cell. If you need any more help, or this doesn't seem clear to you (it won't seem that clear if you don't know the normal cycle of how DNA is copied to RNA and how it all goes back to DNA), let me know. ------------------ Have you done a transaction with me, Jellydonut (joe@j0e.us) ? Then please re-leave me feedback! I'll do the same for you if I haven't done so already. laundromatic.j0e.us/cgi-bin/laundro.cgi?&&f&Jellydonut
