i dunno. hehe i felt like bringing them up again.i went to one last week. and i was, for the first time, disappointed with the party. i mean, there was a few awesome dj's and stuff, but the vibe wasn't there. i'm going to a party tomorrow [which one has yet to be decided], so i'm psyched. how are my other like, four ravers on laundro? ------------------

i don't know if i could still be called a raver. i partied for about 3 or 4 years but now i'm out of the scene. my last rave was in november of 99. i still see all my candy friends but i just don't party. i do miss it sometimes (the music and the people) but i feel a lot cleaner (drug wise) that is all------------------

i definatley know what you mean when you say that the vibe was just not there. i went to this part about 2 1/2 months ago and it was awful. but then a few weeks later I went to this amazing party called Sutpen's Jungle and the vibe was incredible - so i guess it happens every so often. the next big party i am going to is called BANG! on July 1st. sure, it's a long while away,but i'm already excited  IP: Logged |

the last couple a' raves I went to were not cool as normal. It was just all about the drugs, and the djs sucked. i Dont get it. The cops busted most of em by 2 or 3 which also sucked.
I still plan on going to them though, I <3 meeting new people, and even though im staying clean and its hard at raves, they still can be be arite. Im going to a couple out in brooklyn and stuff. And i didnt get to go to the 420 one, but from what i heard it was horrible .------------------

does the annoying fact that rave and "raver" related things (aka raver bracelets,etc)have become like this cool trendy thing to do/wear now bother you?
im not a raver,but i read this zine my raver friend did,and she wrote this whole article about how shes sickened by it becoming this trendy thing to do,when alot of the people dont even have the vibe in them,and i related to it in a way,cause im more of a punk,and just like punks,ravers are a counter-culture,and when punk became this trendy thing,it was pretty sad, for me and alot of people i knew.Cause the trendoids just base everything on fashion without having the real soul for the scene.Just wonderin whatcha think?

yeah, i know what ya mean. i just try not to get too pissed off about things like this because i'll get really worked up about it, but they'll just drop it eventually to go exploit something else. it just makes me sick...------------------

it makes me sad to know it's gotten to be a big,trendy thing. about 2 years ago the scene was awesome and the vibe was totally there and strong. now there's people who go to raves/parties just for drugs and don't even care about the music or the scene itself(or plur) and dress all candy and whatnot. soon enough they will get bored and leave for a new scene and everything will get back to how it used to be...hopefully.IP: Logged |

yeah. whenever a scene yr into becomes trendy sucks. however, i've found some positive aspects to it. i mean, when something becomes trendy, sure you get lots of new people into a scene. however, it also get some new people that totally love it.alrighty. went to a rave last night. great fun! it was a reunion tour rave [didn't know you could have those, did ya  ]. mostly house music, but it was dayum fun. met lots of fun people, a *hell* of a lot of dancing, and after last week's somewhat "vibe-less" party, i was really psyched about the awesome vibe this weekend. ugh but wow i'm cracked out. damn getting no sleep ooh yeah, did anyone catch the wanna be a vj thing? a raver won!!!!!! haha that's too cool. ------------------

I watched Wanna Be a VJ3.. Raymond (the winner) seems so kick butt cool. His personailty was awesome, and he was just so himself. I am not the raver type of person, but he will be a great VJ.. Time for Carson to step down.IP: Logged |

ohh i just watched it!
ray is totally funny! and that comment about there being to many sterotypical barbies on tv was totally true!
i personally think MTV sucks though. There so trendy. But oh well. Maybe this new vj will spice everything up------------------

i'm not really a raver. i've been to a couple, and i think it's cool & shit but it seems like i never get the chances to go, or something screws up.rofl true ravers probably hate people like me :x ------------------

hehehe i read that jaded raver post... up with bluelight. i think i'm *dillusional* about parties i'm a true partykid, but some of those are true. hehe the list should be "you're not an insta-raver when..." list.anyway. i wish some of you people lived closer. like chicago area. then i could meet you chix at a party alrighty. tata ------------------

boomost parties I go to are in the city *as in new york* or philly somtimes if my friends fell like driving. I always wanted to go out to chicago..its only a *cough* 4-6 hour drive from me..

i go to mainly parties in Philly because it's only 30 mins. away,but sometimes if friends drive i make it to DC and NYC parties. it would be awesome if you girls lived closer, then we could all party together yep,ray does look like he has some asian features! i wonder what he spins,since they showed him mixing when they did one of those little "get to know ray" segments before he interviewed Meth. maybe happycore?? Yeah, I just saw that Dateline report! It sort of seems like they made the drug problems sound worse than they really are. But who knows.. maybe the raves around here just aren't as bad, compared to the one they went in on undercover.------------------

I didn't see the dateline thing, but i heard about it. One of my teachers brought it up. She thinks she is supposed to be some kind of influence on us or whatever and she was like "Did anyone see that thing on the drugs last night...on dateline?" I felt like saying it wasn't about drugs only, its was about raves and the media only shows the negative parts of things and blows everything out of proportion, but of course i didn't see it so I wouldn't know much about what dateline said. Ha...I saw that Dateline thing...really f-ing funny. I'm by no means a raver, I'm sXe and raves just make me sad but I think they depicted the whole thing pretty poorly. By the looks of it, the one they went to looked like the raves around here(Detroit) but some of the drug stuff seemed pretty sketchy. At the raves I've been to(staying true to the edge of course), you don't get approached by dealers unless you WANT to be. Hmmm...and I also found it funny that they act like raves are such a new thing and everyone is just finding out about e and k and glow sticks and all that stuff. Ha. I bet that girl wasn't accepted back at school by open arms. I would never do something like that, it'd be like somebody ratting out some punk shows b/c of the pit. Grrr... Anyways, just my little ol' opinion...------------------

Im no raver, but I think it looks pretty fun! Dont worry, Im not your little trend freak here...I learned about raving here actually! ...Im no trendoid though. Ray is so cool! He's so funny too! He definately looks like he has some asian in him... I saw the Dateline thing, and they did blow it out of proportion, but hey, dateline always does that. ------------------

i went to Whistle 3 on Sat. night in NJ and omg..it was the suckiest party i've ever been to! there was tons of dancing and the beats were fresh,but the drug use was insane! 27 kids were taken to the hospital and 2 died due to an OD. in a nutshell,a rave is a party that lasts throughout the night(sometimes held at a big venue or at a warehouse). there are lots of DJs and people dancing,listening to the music,creating a positive vibe - just having a good time ------------------

kim... yeah i'm not a huge fan of the whistle parties. i mean, i wanted to go to see some of the dj's... but it's way mainstream... hehe mw ravers totally rip on the east coast ravers about whistle...and woo, up with quoting anabolic frolic! i *heart* that song... and i'm so thrilled! since it's warmish now, the rocks are back in action.. the rocks are just what they say. rocks. hehe they're a bunch of rocks by lake michigan that all the partykids go to after a rave.. it's awesome. we stay till like, 12 or 1... and people bring food and fun stuff... yay. ------------------

I personally do the *ahem* stimulants *ahem* associated WITH raves AT raves, so I always have the vibe.My last one was awesome. The main room played trance, so it was rad. there was supposed to be this big party over here in the Philly the first weekend in July which is called BANG! 4. the vibe at BANG! parties are always amazing. the other year it fell right on the 4th of July and everyone was decked out in reds,whites and blues.
