Hehe I first have to say what an adorable question. I started shaving when I was 12 after the most part of puberty.But I think you should shave when your ready if your having trauma about shaving its not time to start another way to tell is when your body gets all hairy I think thats it way of saying your ready.DONT start before you're really hairy otherwise you're hair will grow in thick and coarse when it starts to grow.

i started when i was in 6th grade, basically due to peer pressure. 5 years later i think it's a pain and i try to put it off as much as possible. don't rush it, it's not the most enjoyable thing to do every week, but it's part of life. my mom also didn't think i was old enough to shave, just couldn't let her daughter grow up. i dunno - there are places online to get free razors, like silk effects (what i use).------------------

Hehe...I remember the first time my legs were shaved. My mom wanted to show me how to do it, but I was embarrassed and tried to run away from her....But she caught me and held me down and used this Epilator (OOOOUCH!!!) on me. Hehe... ------------------

Yeah I started when I was 12 not becuz everyone else was doing it though no one else was...I did it with out permission but my mom didn't get mad..she only got mad when I started using tampons without consulting her hehe.I was a little bit of a rebel when I was 12 what can I say  such a rebel haha.
I think she was only mad becuz we didn't get to have our mother daughter let me show you how to be a woman talk hehe.------------------

Hee hee. I started shaving at age 11. It was the evening after we heard our first "body talk" lecture from the nurse. She told us that sooner or later, we would want to shave our legs, but we would have to ask our moms first. That night, I shaved my legs. Later, when I was 12, my mom sat me down and showed me how to do it - but to her suprise, I had been shaving for awhile before that!IP: Logged |

good answer, klare. those epilator things are...weird. my mom has the kind where ya poke the little needle into the pore the hair is growing from, ya zap it & it falls out. :/ ishy poo. ------------------

i don't shave, and never will, my advice? don't shave...
it's better waxing lol...even if it hurts...

i was 11 and it was summer before i went to camp,, i had always had older friends and im not sure but i think someone commented on it so i shaved them about a week before iw ent to camp and bought some razors to take with me because iw as gonna be there for like 5 weeks..------------------

My mom wouldn't let me shave, but I finally convinced her when I had to wear a tank top kinda dress and I had a little hair under my arms! I was kinda pissed that I had to wait until then, but I was like 12. But I think it's whenever you're ready! Hope I helped!!

i'd say the first time i shaved was about 2 months into 6th grade. and i did it because i saw a girl being made fun of due to hairy legs. i didn't want it to happen to me. looking back, that was a pretty dumb reason to start shaving, but hey, i guess i was just naive.after 6 months or so of shaving, i finally got fed up w/ doing it every other week, so i stopped. now, i only shave my legs once in a blue moon-- mainly when i have to wear a skirt or something. however most of the time, i just don't care, so i don't even bother (even if i do end up wearing shorts). i guess the only set time that i do shave is the day before or the day of big/significant swim meets. currently, i'm only doing school swimming (no more USS for me), so i only have one, sometimes 2, time a year when i go all out. this meaning that i shave my legs, arms, etc (everything save for my hair, which goes under the swim cap, and my eyebrows). so, to wrap up my long, rambly reply, i started shaving in the 6th grade. but today, i find it sort of insignificant, so i don't really worry too much about it. shaving gets to be a pain and i only shave before big swim meets also. lol i show off my hairy legs like summer long unless i need to go to something important or want to look nice.------------------

if you feel like shaving, shave. if you don't, don't.
definitely don't start just cos some morons make cracks about your hairy legs or whatever. they're idiots & it doesn't matter what they think. that's always the worst reason to do anything.so on that note, i started shaving in 8th grade. now i only shave my legs when i absolutely feel like making the effort. and i don't shave my pits ever. but i'm also old & don't have to deal with peer pressure  . ------------------

I hate nair, it doesn't work for me. I started shaving in 5th grade. Then my mom found out and I got into trouble. The I shaved in 6th grade when I was allowed to.
It's funny though, when I wasn't allowed to shave it didn't cut myself once, then when I finally was, I cut m,yself all the time! Funny world huh?IP: Logged |

LOL, kool topic! I accually started when i was in disney world, i was embarressed to go swimming...LOL, i was 10. I was in the bath tub and my mom was watching TV and i kept asking her what was happening in what she was watching cause i didnt want her to walk in on me! LOL. Then I started using her razor in the shower. BIG MISTAKE! She noticed it was in differnt places every time. So I bought my own. LOL ------------------

Nair smells awful! I couldn't handle the smell so I jsut washed it off b4 it could do anything, haha! My parents wouldn't let me shave until like 6th or 7th grade, grr. LOL. It's a pain some times but it's better than being a hairy monkey. Haha! ------------------
